Introduction to Business
Tutorial Class
This is a 4 credit hour module conducted over a period of 18 weeks. The modes of delivery will be in the form of lectures, tutorials, and self-directed study. The breakdown of the contact hours for the module is as follows:

Lecture: 2 hours/week

Self-study: 6 hours/week
Project 1: Business Plan Presentation
The aim of this project is to broaden students’ knowledge and awareness in contemporary business issues. Students will research one issue (of their choice) and then explain their findings in a class presentation.
Final Project
To address this shortcoming, this project gives the students an opportunity to run a mock business venture and thereby gain the relevant practical experiences. In addition, it also fulfils another learning objective i.e. to comprehend the social responsibilities of a business and discharge them effectively. For this last purpose, the students will donate 100% of the profits earned from the project to a charitable organization of their choice.
